Protein Metabolism Study
We have a new research study to find out more about the effects of dietary protein intake on diet induced thermogenesis in adults.
Diet induced thermogenesis is the increase in metabolic rate that occurs during the digestion, absorption, and storage of food. We test this by measuring the difference between post meal energy expenditure and baseline energy expenditure. Protein is recognized as the most thermogenic macronutrient and contributes to optimal energy metabolism.
The total study participation is 3 visits across approximately 3 weeks. Two of the visits require you to be at the clinic for a 6-hour period.
If qualified, you may be compensated up to $600 for completing all study visits and tasks. You will also receive study related care at no cost.
Qualified participants must:
- Be an adult between 18-55 years of age
- Have a BMI between 18.5-24.9 or 27.0-34.9 kg/m2
- Be willing to consume yogurt and cereal during the study
- Be willing to attend two 6-hour study visits
